My Journey in Tech
I started my career as a Web Developer at Universal Store, a retail fashion company in Australia, where I spent 3 years working on key projects such as migrating from Magento 1 to 2, Ship from Store, Same Day Delivery, Click and Collect, and introducing a new search feature. This role solidified my love for coding and problem-solving, leading me to further specialize in both frontend and backend development.
After Universal Store, I joined Studio None, a small digital agency, where I worked for 3 months. There, I contributed to an in-house product built with React and helped write testing for a database migration. This experience broadened my skills in React and reinforced my expertise in testing and quality assurance.
In addition to my primary roles, I've undertaken some freelance projects, most notably for Ballistic Brewery. For Ballistic Brewery I developed new pages for their website, performed upgrades, installed and configured plugins and PHP modules (as the site is built on WordPress), handled general maintenance and copy updates, and integrated third-party courier partner services.
Currently, I’m working on creating a feature management platform that helps businesses manage and improve their software features. This platform makes it easier to add and optimize new features, enhancing the overall user experience and making operations more efficient. We use modern cloud technology (AWS) for tasks like storing data and managing files. The platform includes an easy-to-use admin panel and provides tools (SDK's) for developers in various programming languages.

Ship from Store
This project was a pivotal initiative that enabled Universal Store to fulfill online orders not only from the distribution center but also from retail stores. This significantly increased the available stock for the online store, improving order fulfillment rates and customer satisfaction.
Key Contributions:- Contributed to the logic for processing orders, determining whether to ship items from stores, the warehouse, or both.
- Created pickup requests to inform our courier which stores had shipments
- Ensured accurate order information was sent from Magento to the stores POS system. Built componenents of the in-store platform using React for an efficient and user-friendly interface.
- Developed a management panel for the customer experience team to make manual changes to shipments
- Created a daily script to generate CSV reports from our SQL database for the finance team.
This project enhanced the efficiency of order processing and expanded the business's fulfillment capabilities.
Same Day Delivery
This project was crucial for enhancing Universal Store's delivery capabilities by integrating new couriers, with a focus on providing same-day delivery options to customers.
Key Contributions:- Developed an algorithm and classes to determine the optimal courier for each delivery based on location, cost, and estimated delivery time, and created classes to interact with courier APIs, ensuring real-time communication and integration with the Magento system.
- Updated the Magento-to-store POS APIs to incorporate and manage new courier options, enabling seamless communication between systems.
- Enhanced the React frontend to display updated courier options, providing store staff with clear shipment information.
- Improved the management panel for customer service, allowing the team to make informed decisions and provide better support.
- Implemented the user interface and business logic at checkout to provide customers with same-day delivery options, ensuring a seamless and intuitive selection process.
This project significantly improved the delivery process, offering customers faster and more reliable shipping options.
New Search Functionality
This project focused on enhancing the search functionality of the Universal Store website, addressing the limitations of the previous system that failed to display relevant results.
Key Contributions:- Collaborated with the UI/UX team to integrate third-party search software and customize it according to their designs.
- Implemented and optimized the new search functionality to improve result relevance.
- Observed a significant increase in the use of the search feature following the update.
- Nearly doubled the conversion rate via search, demonstrating the success of the new implementation.
